Amerine, Hillman A Tuesday, August II, 1970
Funeral services for Hillman A. Amerine, Strong City, who died Saturday in Newman Memorial County Hospital in Emporia.
were held Monday afternoon in the Croy Funeral Home. They were conducted by the Rev. Chester Eshbaugh, pastor of the Strong City United Methodist Church.
The soloist was Mrs. Robert Long and the accomponist was Mrs. Lee Collingsworth. Active pallbearers were Lloyd Clark, Robert English. Donald Lancaster, Francis Towle. Gerald Dicker and James Roll and honorary pallbearers were William Meirowsky. John Harbison, Harold Wiebrecht, Delbert Eshbaugh, E. C. Oldham and Ronald Gibb.
Graveside services in the Strong City Cemetery were conducted by Zeredatha Masonic Lodge 80, A. F. and A. M.
Relatives who attended from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Ryan. Littleton, Colo., Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Borgen, Barnard: Mr. and Mrs. R. I. Bennett, Wichita, and Mr. and Mrs. T. E. McCurry and Marie O'Rourke, Emporia.
Mr. Amerine who was 68 years old, had a private bookkeeping/tax business in his home. He also was a toll collector for the Kansas Turnpike Authority at Emporia and Cassoday. He had been a resident of Strong City since 1917.
He is survived by his wife, Naomi, of the home, and two daughters, Nancy Nash, Strong City, and Judy Deering, Matfield Green.
