Andrews, Harry Wayne

Harry Wayne Andrews, 80, Emporia, died Nov. 11, 2006, at Newman Regional Health, Emporia.

Harry Wayne Andrews, the son of Dell and Mable Zent Andrews, was born July 23, 1926, at Little River.

He married Reva Mae Bandy June 23, 1966, at First Presbyterian Church in Emporia. He was a dispatcher for KP&L for 38 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member and past commander of LowryFunston Post 1980, V.F.VV., the Ball-McColm Legion post and Eagles Aerie 2587. He was a Master Mason in the Emporia lodge.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Tommy Andrews and Sam Andrews of Irving, Texas; two sisters, Nadyne Aufleger of Emporia and Adis Jordan of Hermitage, Mo.; four granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by a son, Harry Andrews Jr.; a step-son, Gary Shaw; and a twin brother, Dwayne Andrews.

The funeral service was Wednesday, Nov. 15, at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. Emporia Pastor Lee Hoskins of the First United Methodist Church, Emporia, conducted the service. Military honors were by BallMcColm Post 5 of the American Legion and Lowry-Funston Post 1980, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Emporia. Masonic rites were by Emporia Masonic Lodge #12, A.F. & A.M., Emporia. Memorials are suggested to the Lowry-Funston Post #1980, V.F.W. Color Guard in care of Roberts Blue Barnett Funeral Home, 605 State St., Emporia, KS 66801.
