Arnold, Guy C

Funeral services for Guy C. Arnold were held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Brown Sr., in this city at 8:00 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, January 30, after which interment was made in Prairie Grove Cemetery west of this city. Mr. Arnold, who for many years, lived in this county, died at his home in Kansas City, Mo., Monday, Jan. 28th. He had been in failing health for the past two years and for some weeks his condition had been critical.

The deceased was a brother of Clint Arnold of Emporia and Ben Arnold who used to live here. Two brothers are dead, Will Arnold, who is buried at Denver, and Frank Arnold at this place. The deceased was an uncle of Don Arnold of this city.

Born at Bloomington, Ill., Mr. Arnold came to this county in 188l, locating in the Strong City vicinity. He farmed around Strong City for a number of years and then lived in Strong City until about twenty years, ago when he moved to Kansas City with his family. In Kansas City he worked at the taylor business until his health failed.

Mr. Arnold was married to Miss Nettie Denn, of this county in January, 1889. To this union one son was born, Elmer Arnold, who also lived in Kansas City. This son, Elmer, and Mrs. Guy Arnold survive. There is also one grandchild living, The deceased was a member of the Church of Christ and J. W. Amerine, of Strong City, preached the sermon.
