Baker, Clara Catherine
Clara Catherine Baker, 70, a resident of the Emporia Rehabilitation Center and formerly of rural Emporia, died Saturday, April 3, 2004, at the center.
Clara, the daughter of Bernard and Mary Hagemann Burenheide, was born Aug. 9, 1933, in Emporia. She married Carl E. Baker Sept. 24, 1955, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emporia. She
worked at Dolly Madison Bakery in Emporia for 28 years, retiring eight years ago.
Clara is survived by her husband; three sons, Edwin and Bernie Baker of Emporia and Robert Baker of Wichita; a brother, Leo Burenheide of Emporia; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, two sisters and five brothers.
The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated April 7, 2004, at St. Catherine's Catholic Church. Father Dan Gardner conducted , the service. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
