Baldwin, William Leonard

WILLIAM LEONARD BALDWIN

William Leonard Baldwin was born Jan 28, 1890 at Homer, Iowa and passed away at a Denver hospital Jun 21, 1948 at the age of 44 years, 4 months, and 24 days, after a prolonged illness.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. C. Baldwin, who homesteaded south of Kit Carson on Sep 12, 1910.

On January 20 1920, he was married to Miss Agnes Young who passed away Aug 16 1927, leaving him with four small children, who have since made their home with his sister and husband, Mr and Mrs. Roy Ransford of Newton, Kansas.

He leaves behind two sons, William Baldwin of the US Army; Jesse L. of the US Navy, two daughters, Mrs. Marie Hale of Ozark, Ala.; Mrs Doris Farquer of Newton, Kans., one brother, Jesse L of Kit Carson, A number of neices, nephews and other relatives, also a host of friends who mourn his death.

Funeral services were conducted from the local Methodist chuirch, Saturday, Jun 26, at 2:30 by Rev. John Gingerich of Kit Carson and Rev. Lewis of Cheyenne Wells. Pall bearers were E. Lafferty, Wm. Mauterer, George Hogan, Carl Duvall, Bill Duball, and Elden Platner.

Relatives and friends from out of town attending were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ransford and Mrs. Doris Farquer and son of Newton, Kans., Mr. and Mrs. Carl Duvall and children, Pueblo, Mrs. Roy Merrill and son of Pueblo, Mrs. Robert Ackworth and son of Pueblo, Mrs. Jack Bednarcap of Abilene, Texas. Bill Duvall, US Navy, Oakland, Calif.
