Bate, Harry

Harry Bate, of Emporia, was lnstantly killed Tuesday afternoon at Richmond, 15 miles south of Ottawa, when a coal oar from a coal chute struck him. The body was badly mangled. Mr. Bate was 42 yearn old, unmarried and was, traveling salesman for a Kansas City wholesale grocery company. He made' his home in Emporia with his mother. Mr. Bate was known to a number in this county and he was. the owner of a half interest in the general store of Woolwine and Company at Saffordville.
