Death of Felix Bentz
Felix Bentz, an early settler living two miles south of Elk, passed away on August 16th at 9 p. m. after a lingering illness, caused by old age.
About five years ago he deeded his farm to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Meierhoff, who were to care for him the remainder of his life and in whose home he died.
Felix Bentz was born in Thurgan, Switzerland June 14, 1826, and came to America in 1868. His wife died twenty- four years ago and later two small children, the other three children scattered, and no relative was present at the funeral, which was conducted by Rev. Remlinger of Prairie Grove Lutheran church in the presence of a large number of neighbors and, friends.
