Carl Blackshere died at the residence of his father, J R Blackshere, on the Cottonwood, above Elmdale, after an illness of six weeks, last Saturday noon, in the 26th year of his age. He was first prostrated by malarial fever which soon changed to typhoid. Two weeks ago he appeared to be improving and an early restoration to health was looked for. The deceased came to Kansas when two years of age. He was a wholesome, manly young fellow and made friends of all with whom he met. The funeral took place at J R Blackshere's residence at 10 o'clock Monday and the body was interred in the cemetery west of this city.
