Britain, Julia Ann

Julia Ann Britain, 84, of Emporia, died Feb 17, 2002, at Vintage Manor, Emporia. Julia Ann Goodell was born June 20, 1917, to George Washington and Maude W Henry Goodell at Toledo.

She married Fred Alden Britain, Aug 29, 1935 at Emporia. He died July 23, 1970 in Emporia.

Survivors include one daughter, Susan Katheen Douglas, Emporia, one son, Donald Fred Britain Sr., Americus; two brothers, Joseph Goodell, Emporia and Homer Goodell, Lebo; three sisters, Barbara Adkins, Emporia, Janice Stead, Emporia and Susetta Button, Americus; six grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents., husband, two brothers, David and George Goodell and one sister, Betsy Goodell. Julia was a homemaker and a CNA at Vintage Manor for 15 years. She retired seven years ago. She is a member of the United Methodist Church of Americus.

Funeral servies will be held Feb 20, 2002 at 2 PM at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. Pastor Norton Ritter of the First United Methodist Church, Emporia will officiate. Interment will be in the Americus Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
