Brookshire, Alva Clay

Alva Clay Brookshire, 63, of Cottonwood Falls, died July 14, 2005, in Palm Bay, Fla., at his daughter's home.

Mr. Brookshire was born in Muskogee, Okla., the son of Orville and Frances Brookshire.

Mr. Brookshire served 15 years in the U.S. Navy and five years in the U.S. Army. He also worked 18 years for Civil Service.

He was a member of the Bellamy United Methodist Church, Glovester, Va. and the Marmaton Lodge 245 of Moran.

Survivors include his wife, Berta Brookshire; daughter, Pam Page of Palm Bay, Fla.; three sons, Alva Clay Brookshire Jr. of Hayes, Va., Randy Brookshire of Marriottsville, Md. and Otis Brookshire of Lexington, S.C.; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services with full military honors were held July 23, 2005, in Bellamy Memorial Cemetery, Glovester, Va.
