Burkdoll, Walter Dean Walter Dean Burkdoll, 90, died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005.
He was a lifelong farmer and stockman in the Lyndon community.
Walter, the son of Frank Leslie and Bessie Mae Brewer Burkdoll, was born Nov. 15, 1915, in Lyndon. In his early years, he worked with his father on the family farm and in the fur-trade business.
He graduated from Lyndon High School in 1935.
In 1974, he and son Dean Lee began Burkdoll Farms. He was still helping operate the farm at the time of his death.
He married Georgene Neill on May 5, 1935; she died June 7, 1957. He married Bernice Kline on Sept. 14, 1958; she died Nov. 11, 1967. He married Frances Lockhart on Feb. 14, 1969; she died Oct. 23, 2005.
He is survived by two sons, Dean Lee Burkdoll and Frank Burkdoll both of Lyndon; two daughters, Carolyn McMillin of Lyndon and Rexine Roller of Pea Ridge, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-
grandchildren, including Jeff Burkdoll and Daniel Burkdoll of Emporia and Aaron Burkdoll of Cottonwood Falls; one great-granddaughter; three step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was Sunday, Nov. 27, at Grace Community Church, Overbrook.
