Carpenter, Mary Kansas
Mrs. Mary Kansas Carpenter, age 69, died at her home in Matfield Green, Friday noon, July 3.
Mrs. Carpenter had suffered a severe sick spell several months ago, but had recovered and was fecliing quite well. She was sitting in a chair when she suddenly collapsed and fell to the floor dead.
She is survived by her husband, M. H. Carpenter; three sisters, Mrs. A. D. Richards of Strong City, Mrs. Nan Fosbick of Matfield Green, and Miss Patience Edwards of Fallriver, Kans., who was unable to attend the funeral; three brothers, Lee Jones of Matfield Green, Sam Jones of Fal!river, and Harrison Jones of Burlington Junction, Mo.; and a number of grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Matfield Green, Sunday evening, attended by a large congregation. Interment was in Matfield Green cemetery. The Christian minister from Towanda conducted the services. The floral offerings were beautiful.
