Carr, Jessie P Sullivan
FORMER CHASE COUNTY RESIDENT DIES IN TOPEKA
Mrs. Jessie P. Carr, 78, of Topeka, formerly of Chase county, passed away in
a Topeka hospital Saturday, July 16, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Carr
was born August 9, 1876 in Dade county, Missouri. She lived in Chase county
from 1903 to 1919 when she moved to Topeka. Topeka had since been her home.
She was the wife of the late Robert C. Carr, and was a member of the Eastern
Star at Williamsburg.
Surviving her are two sons, Robert C. Carr and Chester S. Carr, both of
Topeka; one daughter, Mrs. Christine Carr Smith, of Topeka; one brother,
Hartwell W. Sullivan, Wichita, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Monday morning, July 18, at 9:30 o'clock in
the Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary chapel, Topeka. Graveside services were held
at 2:00 o'clock the same afternoon at the Bazaar cemetery under the
direction of the Croy Funeral Home. The local pall bearers were William P.
Austin, Tom Norton, J. Wilbur Koonce, and Leonard Croy.
