Cartter, Mary Jane
Graveside services for Mary Jane Cartter of Cottonwood Falls were held Monday in Prairie Grove
Cemetery at Cottonwood Falls. Mrs. Cartter, 95, died Friday, September 27, 1991, at the Chase County Nursing Center in Cottonwood Falls.
She was a retired telephone operator for Pacific Telephone Co. at San Diego, California. She had
lived in Cottonwood Falls for 39 years.
Mary Jane Mears, the daughter of Rufus Dwight and Luellela Marie Mears, was born on May 7, 1896, at Randall. She married Harry Cartter on August 27, 1932, at Yuma,
Arizona. He died in 1963. She is survivea oy one niece.
Mrs. Cartter was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Pioneers Club of America.
Friends and relatives attending the funeral included: Virginia White, Strong City; Bill Holland, Dallas, Texas; Eloise Marie English, Napa, California; and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Barret, Randall.
Croy Funeral Home at Cottonwood Falls was in charge of arrangements.
