Cary, John F.
Death of John Cary
John F. Cary died at his home in this city last Friday morning from a complication of heart failure and dropsy. Although Mr. Cary had been ailing for several months, he bore his suffering patiently and cheerfully. Everything that loving hands could do to aid and comfort him was given.
His death came as a shock to the wife who, is left to mourn the loss of a kind husband. There are also left three brothers and two sisters, Mrs. Lutechia Hohn, of Emporia, Kansas; Mrs. Frances Allen, of Iola; Douglas Cary, of Kendall; David Cary, of Madison, and Wm. Cary of Elkheart. A large circle of friends extend their sympathy to the bereaved wife and relatives in this, their sad hour of sorrow.
On March the 10th, 1886, Mr. Cary married Miss Nancy Nicols, of Emporia, Kansas. To this union was born one son who died in infancy.
The deceased was born in Fort Wayne, Allen county, Indiana, April the 21st, 1859, and died June the 22nd, 1917. Age 59 years, 2 months, and 1 day.
The funeral services were held at the Cary home in this city at 10:00 o'clock Sunday morning. Rev.Loney preaching the sermon after which the remains were taken to Matfield Green the old home of the family where a second service was held in the Christian church, Rev. Strange conducting this service. Interment was then made in the Matfield Green cemetery.
