Christlieb, Lela M Giger
Lela M. Christlieb, 89, of Herington, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at the Herington Municipal Hospital.
The daughter of Leroy M. and A. Inez Gillett Giger, she was born Feb. 12, 1919, at El Campo, Texas, and raised near Elmdale.
Mrs. Christlieb was a homemaker. She graduated from Elmdale High School with the class of 1936, then received her teaching certificate from Emporia Teacher's College and taught in rural school for a few years.
She married Glen R. Christlieb on Dec. 24, 1939, in Saffordville.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Edger Leroy Christlieb and Donald Christlieb both of Grand Junction, Colo.; a daughter, Barbara Garber, also of Grand Junction, Colo.; a brother, Edwin Giger of Elmdale; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters,
Julia Whitney and Irma Shehi; and two grandchildren.
A private cremation service will be held at a later date.
