Clawson, Ann M Kirchoff
The graveside service of Ann M. Clawson, 97, was May 12, 2003, in Evergreen Cemetery, south of Emporia. The Rev. Phyllis Garrett of the Hartford Methodist Church conducted the service.
Mrs. Clawson died May 8, 2003, at the Emporia Rehabilitation Center.
She taught at the Strong City High School before her marriage and later taught at the Strong City Elementary School.
Ann M. Kirchoff, the daughter of Gustuf and
Jennie Kirchoff, was born Jan. 13, 1906, near Leawood, Neb. She moved with her family to a farm near Olpe in 1910. She attended Emporia High School and graduated in 1926 from Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia.
She married Harry Don Clawson on May 22, 1932, at Emporia. He died Aug. 23, 1990.
Mrs. Clawson was a member of the Twin Mound Friends Church. She also was a member of the
Ladies Aid Society and the Order of the Eastern Star in Hartford.
She is survived by a son, Donald G. Clawson of Hartford. A son, Robert Clawson; and three brothers, Walter Kirchoff, Elmer Kirchoff and Henery Kirchoff, died earlier.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hand in Hand Hospice and sent in care of the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, P. O. Box 175, Emporia, KS 66801.
