Coblentz, S.O. Mrs.

FUNERAL OF MRS. COBLENTZ. The funeral of Mrs. S. O. Coblentz, who was killed in a motor car wreck in Morris county last Saturday morning, was held at the Coblentz home north of Elmdale at 3:00 o'clock Monday afternoon, Sept. 3rd.

Rev. Wells, of Elmdale, preached the sermon, after which interment was made in the Prairie Grove Cemetery west of this city. The funeral was attended by one of the largest gatherings, there being neighbors and friends who came from a radius of many miles.

In speaking of the tragedy, Mr. Coblentz said that he and his family had been planning for many weeks on making the trip they had started when the awful accident occurred. They were enroute to Alta Vista, Kansas to spend the weekend with relatives.

Mr. Lem Snodgrass who had just recently bought a new motor car had agreed to take them and so early that Saturday morning they had left the Coblentz home.

In the car besides Mr. Snodgrass who was driving was Mr. and Mrs. Coblentz and their children, Miss Josie, who is a student of the Chase County High School and Wesley, who is about fourteen.

Three miles north of the Morris Chase county line while rounding a turn in the road, the ear seemed to skid when the outer wheels struck soft dirt, according
