Collett, Mrs Frank
The many Chase county friends and neighbors of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Collett, who formerly lived at Elk, will be grieved to learn of Mrs. Collett's death which occured on November 3rd. at Bashor, Kansas, where the family had lived for the past thirteen years.
Mrs. Collett died very suddenly. The funeral services were held at the family home at Bashor after which the remains were taken to Avon, Ill., for interment. Avon is the old family home of Mrs. Collett and she was laid to rest in the family cemetery there.
Mrs. Collett was born in Roseville, Illinois. She was educated at Lombard College. She was a student of music and art and followed the teachers' profession for a number of years prior to her marriage. Her home was decorated with her own paintings.
She came to this county in 1903 at the time of her marriage and this remained her home until they moved to Bashor, Kansas.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Collett leaves two sisters, Mrs. Grace Osborn, of Indiana, and Mrs. Maude Baumgardner, of Avon, Illinois.
During the time the Colletts lived in this county Mr. Collett had the store and post office at Elk and in this work he was assisted by Mrs. Collett. Mr. Collett is a brother of Mrs. Lew Umberger of Elk and a nephew of C. E. Houston of this city.
