Conkle, Verlin Ray Former Burlington resident, Verlin Ray Conkle, Sr.,
60, of Chanute died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006, at a son's home in Miami, Okla., where he was living the past two weeks.
The son of Stanley Ray and Gertrude Bazil Conkle,
he was born Sept. 6, 1945,
at his parents' farm north
of Burlington.
He married
Sharon Day in 1967. They were divorced. He married Mary Margaret Hoag on Aug. 11, 1976, in El Dorado. She died April 19, 2004.
Mr. Conkle served in the Burlington National Guard unit for three years.
He is survived by two. s daughters, Jo Skillman of Burlington and Susie Tatman of Elmdale; two sons, Verlin R. Conkle Jr.
and Josh Inman of Miami, Okla.; one brother, John L. Conkle of Burlington; and seven grandchildren.
The service was Feb. 22, 2006, in Key West Cemetery, east of Lebo.
