Conley, Mattie

Mattie Conley, formerly of Cottonwood Falls, died Oct. 30, 2001 at Holiday Resort in Emporia.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 11 a.m. at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Chapel in Cottonwood Falls.

Interment will follow at Matfield Green Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Matfield Community Church. A Complete obituary will appear later.

The funeral for Mattie J Conley, 100, a resident of the Holdiay Resport Care Center, was Saturday, Nov. 3, in the Brown-Bennett-Alexandeer Funeral Home at Cottonwood Falls. Burial was in Matfield Green Cemetery. The Rev. Vance Veazey conducted the service. Memorial contributions to the Matfield Community Church can be sent to the funeral home. Mrs. Conley died Oct. 30, 2001 at the care center.

Mattie J Lindenmuth, the daughter of James Truman and Gettie Lee Melson Lindenmuth, was born May 14, 1901, at Beverly.

She married Joe C. Conley on Feb. 27, 1918. Mrs. Conley, a homemaker, was a member of the Matfield Community Church. She did volunteer work at the Chase County Senior Center for many years and made lap robes and bibs for the Chase County Health and Rehabilitation Center. She is survived by a son, Doyle Conley of Emporia; a daughter, Dorothy Leone Kirk of Emporia; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren. A daughter, Dulie Coplen; two sisters Dulie Pfeifer and Irene Brockleman; and two brothers, Alfa Lindenmuth and Willie Lindenmuth, died earlier.
