Copeland, Nancy Taylor
Nancy Taylor Copeland was born October 19th 1821, as Dresdon, Mumkingdon county, Ohio. After her marriage to her late husband, Wm Copeland, they came to Kansas in 1858.
They came to Chase county 1859 settling on the old home farm now occupied by their oldest son, Frank, on which she resided until after the death of her husband, in 1878. Subsequently selling her interest in the homestead to her son Frank. She made her home with her son Immanuel in Strong City until her death on the morning of August 7.
There was born to this union nine children, five daughters and four sons five of whom survive to mourn the loss. Frank, Immanuel, William, Mrs. Smith, of Sedan, Kansas and Prudence Nichol, of Oklahoma.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Mebl, of Elmdale in the Methodist church in Strong City and the remains laid to rest beside her husband in the cemetery west of this city.
