Corbin, Thomas J

T. J, Corbin Passes After Brief Illness

More of the details of the life and death of Thomas J Corbin, a former resident of Chase County, were brought this week to the news office by his daughter, Mrs E. T. Hedrick of Strong City. Mr. Corbin died May 6 at the home of his oldest son, A. J. Corbin, at Hartville, Mo.

Thomas J. Corbin, a former Chase County resident, paseed May 6 at Hartville, Mo., after being confined to his bed one week, but he had been in failing health for the past year. He was born at Clarksburg, W. Va, November 3, 1845.

When a boy he moved with his parents to Livingston County, Illinois, and on November 27, 1867, was married to Mary Adaline Nichol. To this union were born nine children, seven of whom are living. Andrew J. died at Matfield Green in 1884 and Morgan died at Hartville, Mo., in 1915.

Mr. and Mrs. Corbin moved to Chase County in 1880 and settled near Matfield Green. In the fall of 1897 they moved to Wright County, Missouri, and then in 1924 moved to Broadview, Mont., to make their home with their son, Lloyd.

Seven children, one brother, one sister and 29 grandchildren survive him. The children are Mrs. J E. Miner of Marengo, Ill., Mrs. Wilson Bradburn of Oklahoma, Mrs. W M Erps of ElDorado, Ark., Mrs. E T Hedrick of Strong City, Lloyd Corbin of Broadview Mont., Charles E., Corbin of Hardin Mont., Charles E. Corbin, of Hardin Mont., and A J Corbin of Hartville, Mo.
