Cormack, Allen W
DR. A. W. CORMACK
Many of the older residents of this county will remember Dr. A. W. Cormack who resided here about the year 1871, and whose death occurred at Albany, Oregon several months ago.
Allen Wyatt Cormack was born at Staunton, Ill., on February 10, 1843. When a young man he chose medicine for his profession. He graduated from McKendrick college and then entered the Eclectic Medical college of Cincinnati, Ohio. At various times he pursued post-graduate work in the Clinical Medical and the Chicago Polyclinic schools.
In 1871 Dr Cormack came to Cottonwood Falls, Kansas where he practiced several years. On December 01 1875, he married Alice M. Pickett.
He then located in Fredonia and with the exception of two years spent in Illinois, he practiced there uninterruptedly for 37 years. Dr. Cormack retired from active practice in 1912 and went to Oregon, where he has lived continually ever since.
