Corpening, Patricia Hayes

Patricia Corpening, 61, Emporia, died March 4, 2002, at Newman Regional Health. Mrs Corpening and her husband, Victor owned and operated Duffers Driving Range for the last six years. She was a cook for eight years, from the late 1960's through the early 1970's, at the Emporia Rest Home. She also was a homemaker. Patricia Hayes, the daughter of Matt and Margaret Eisenbeis Hayes, was born June 22 1940, at Olpe.

She married Victor Corpening on Jun 8, 1961, at Miami, Okla. Mrs. Corpening is survived by her husband; a daughter, Vicky J Bess of Hartford; three sons, Thomas L Corpening and Bradley L Corpening, both of Emporia, and Tony R. Corpening of Wichita; her mother of Olpe; four sisters, Peggy Traner of Emporia, Sharon Stine of Strong City, Sandy Stromer of Wichita and Mary Ellen Lewis of Broken Arrow, Okla.; four brothers, Bob Hayes of California, James Hayes of Collinsville, Okla., Dennis Hayes of New Mexico and Matthew Hayes of Tulsa, Okla.; and four grandchildren. Her father died earlier.

The Mass of Christian Burial was March 8 in St. Joseph Catholic church at Olpe. The Rev Tim Haberkorn conducted the service. Burial was in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association may be sent to Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
