Cowden, James
William Cowden's Father Dead.
William Cowden of Rock Creek, who purchased the George Drummond farm a couple of years ago, recieved word last week of the death of his father, James Cowden, of Reading, Kansas. Mr. Cowden died Friday night, Feb. 9th, following an illness due to a complication of diseases. He was one of the best known citizens of Reading, where he had lived for nearly a quarter of a century, coming to this state from Illinois.
He is survived by two sons, who are Charles Cowden, of Reading, and William Cowden, of this county. The deceased was a Civil war veteran and served in the Illinois regiment. He was an active G. A. R. member in his local post.
