Cowley, Aline
Aline, the little four year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Cowley of Cedar Point, died early Tuesday morning, death being caused by Meningitis. Aline and her sister, Eunice, had only recently recovered from a spell of typhoid fever and she was still in a more or less weakened condition when she was taken with the latter disease, meningitis. Her condition became very serious a week ago and from then up until her death, she had gradually grown weaker.
She leaves besides her sorrowing parents, her sister, Eunice, who is seven. Aline was born at Cedar Point, February 19, 1911.
The funeral was held at the family home in Cedar Point at 10:00 oclock Wednesday morning after which the little body was laid to rest in the cedar Point cemetery. Rev. Bright of Emporia preached the sermon.
Parents, faint and worn with watching
Through the long, dark night of grief,
Dry your tears and soothe your sighing
Gain a respite of relief.
Angels bright will watch beside her
In her quiet and holy slumber
Till the morning, then awake her
To a place among their number.
Thus a golden link is broken
In the chain of earthly bliss
Thus the distance shorter making
Betwixt the brighter world and this.
