Cox, Lloyd G Dr Dr. Lloyd G. Cox, 81, died May 15, 2004, in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Dr. Cox was a 14 year resident of Colorado, is a native of Pomona and the son of school teachers. He lived in Chase County during his childhood and youth.
He attended Manhattan Bible College, Kansas State
University, Phillips
Graduate Seminary, Indiana University, Drake University and received his Doctor of Divinity degree from Phillips University in 1980.
He was married to Cleda A. Frost Cox for 59 years. They resided in Colorado Springs, Colo. He was an active member of First Christian Church, Colorado Springs. He was a recent Chairman of Elders. He enjoyed participating in
the Colorado Senior Lobby.
Many years of distinguished service to the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) have been given since Dr. Cox was ordained in 1953. He
served churches in Oklahoma and Kansas prior to joining the Regional Staff of the Christian Church in Kansas in 1959.
Most of his ministry was with the Kansas State denominational organization where he served 30 years. At the time of his retirement in 1985, he was a Regional Minister/President of the Christian Church in Kansas.
During retirement, he had two interim ministries, one as the regional minister for the Central Rocky Mountain Region and for Central Christian Church
in Denver.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Paul and Carson Cox of Kansas; a daughter, Virginia Robertson of Colorado; three grandchildren; a brother, Loren Cox; and a sister, Violet Mauderly of Kansas.
A memorial service was held at First Christian Church, Colorado Springs, Colo. An inurnment service will be held Thursday, May 27, 2004, at 10 a.m. at the Community Center in Burns. Burial will be at the Wonsevu Township Cemetery.
