Crawford, Mary Elizabeth MRS. CRAWFORD, AN EARLY SETTLER DIES
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Crawford died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Claude Hawkins, in Clements, Sunday, January 28th, at the age of 80 years.
Mrs. Crawford was one of the oldest residents of Chase County, having lived in this county sixty-five years.
She leaves her daughter and two sons, Frank of Clements, and Charles of Florence.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 at the home. Burial at Clements.

Notes: Mary Elizabeth Watson, born Feb. 1843 in Indiana, died Jan. 28, 1923, in Clements, KS. Married Joseph L. Crawford, Sr., on Dec. 29, 1871(or 1873), in Chase Co., KS, they had five children: Austin, Charles, Frank, Celia and May Crawford. Her husband, and son Austin and daughter May preceded her in death.
