Creager, Charles Bicknell
Funeral services for retired Emporia State University professor Charles Bicknell Creager, 79, were Aug. 6, 2004, at the First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Claudia Bakely conducted the service. Mr. Creager was cremated after the funeral service.

Mr. Creager died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, at Newman Regional Health.
Creager, a professor of physics, was chairman of the division of physical sciences at Emporia State University for 13 years. He taught at ESU and other colleges for more than 30 years. He retired from ESU 20 years ago. He also conducted private and government-sponsored research projects.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II, having served from 1943 to 1946.
The son of Donald F. and Rachel Becknell Creager, he was born Oct. 5, 1924, in Bicknell, Ind. He married Leona M. Craft on June 14, 1951, in Dennison, Ohio. She survives.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He also was a member of the Breakfast Lions Club, the Emporia Arts Council and several professional organizations. He and his wife and children formed a family orchestra.
He is also survived by two daughters, Rachel A. Creager of Strong City and Melora M. Creager of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a son, Forrest C. Creager of Topeka; a brother, Bruce Creager of Orange, Calif.; a sister, Dorothy Davis of Charlotte, N.C.; and two grandchildren.
