Crocker, A. J.
Word was recieved here Saturday of the death of Mr. A. J. Crocker, of Emporia, who died at Buffalo, N. Y., on Friday, Nov. 9th, following a critical illness which had extended over several weeks. The remains were brought to Emporia where the funeral services will be held at 2:00 o'clock this afternoon. Interment will then be made in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Crocker who was an uncle of E. G. and A. T. Crocker of the Bazaar and Matfield vicinties, was 85 years of age at the time of his death. At the organization of the Chase County National Bank here in the year 1882, he was made a director and had continued to be one of the bank directors up until about two years ago when failing health caused him to resign.
He was one of the early settlers of this country, having first located on what is now the (sic) Litcler farm east of the city where he for many years engaged in farming and stock-raising.
After leaving this county he had since made his home in Emporia and had continued to be a frequent business visitor to this city until ill health and his enfeebled condition had made it very difficult for him to travel.
