Cunningham, Beulah Coate
A Former Resident Passes in Texhoma
Mrs. J. H. Cunningham, Daughter of Mrs. Viola Handlin. Died, January 18, 1930.
Friends here of Mrs. J. F. Cunningham of Texhoma, Tex., will be grieved to learn of her death which occurred January 18 at Texhoma. Mrs. Cunningham was a daughter of Mrs. Viola HandIin and a granddaughter of Sylvester Miller, both of whom have lived in Strong City.
Beulah Coate Cunningham was born March 13, 1902, in Strong City and lived here for a number of years. She joined the Methodist church in Strong City when she was nine years old. Latter when she married, she joined the Baptist church, the church of her husband.
`I'he following account is from the Texhoma Times:
A death that brought sadness to the many friends of the family last Saturday when Mrs. J. F. Cunningharn passed away after a long illness. Mrs. Cunningham was loved and liked by all who know her and the place made vacant in the community, by her death cannot be filled. She had resided in Texhoma since 1916; and at the
time of her death she was 27 years, 10 months and five days old.
She was a devoted Christian being a member of the Baptist church, from which church the funeral services were held Monday afternoon, January 20 with Rev. U. G. Brister conducting the service, an4 the body was laid to rest in the Texhoma cemetery. She is survived by her husband, J. F. Cunningham,: and her mother, Mrs. Viola Handlin and her grandfather, Sylvester Miller, all living here, and two brothers, L. H. Coate of Oklahoma City and G Coate of Protection, Kansas, and other relatives.
Mr and Mrs J W Cunningham of Greenburg, Kans; Mrs. S E Dailey of Wichita, Kans; Mrs. H E Garrison of Manchester, Kans.; Mrs. R D Holmes of Herrington, Kans., and A D Midkiff of Ponca City, Oklahoma.; were here the first of the week attending the funeral of Mrs. J F Cunningham.
