Cunningham, Jennie Drummond
Mrs. William R Cunningham, 77, of La Junta, Colo., died in a Pueblo, Colo., hospital Wednesday morning Sep 18. She was born February 13 1891, in Elmdale, the daughter of William and Martha Drummond, and was married to William Ray Cunningham on December 23, 1915. They moved from Florence, Kan., to La Junta, in September. 1923, when Mr. Cunningham was transferred there with the Santa Fe Railway Company. Since February, 1968 the couple had lived in a nursing home.
Survivors include her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Shull, La Junta, and Mrs. Jean Zamora, Mexico City, Mex.; one brother, James Drummond, Clements; one sister, Mrs. Alice Robbins, Omaha, Neb. She was preceded in death by one daughter; three brothers, William, Ralph and Alfred Drummond, and one sister, Mrs. J. O. Wilson.
Funeral rites were held at 2:30 pm Friday in Peacock-Green Memorial Chapel in La Junta. the Rev. Roy Ives, pastor of the First Christian Church officated, assisted by Rev. Earl Miller, pastor of the First Methodist Church. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery at La Junta.
Attending the rites from this area were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Gordon, Strong City, and Mrs. Wayne Keller, Emporia.
