Diedrich, Ina Vivian

Ina Vivian Diedrich, 78, Council Grove, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at the Morris County Hospital in Council Grove.

Born March 21, 1923, at Ottawa, she was the daughter of Frank Jesse and Effie Marova Brown Fuqua. She was reared in the Wilsey and Delavan area and attended area schools. Mrs Diedrich received her GED at Council Grove at the age of 45. She was a telephone operator at the Delavan Air Base during WWII and was dietitian at the former Country Club Home from 1967 until 1985.

Mrs. Diedrich was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, St. Rose Altar Society and the American Legion Auxiliary. Her marriage to Norman H. Diedrich was on Aug. 5, 1944, in Herington. He preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 1998.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Zelma Gatewood, Margaret Johnson and Jo Ann Furman; and two brothers, Don Fuqua and Gary Fuqua. She is survived by three daughters, Marlene Smith, Farlington, Sandy Schaper, Cottonwood Falls, and Brenda Picolet, Dwight; one son, Joedy Diedrich, Wilsey; two sisters Betty Burnett, Wilsey and Lola Tornquist, Council Grove; two brothers, Roger Fuqua, Coucil Grove and Jerry Fuqua, Holton; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass was celebrated Nov. 30, 2001 at the St Rose Catholic Church with interment following in the Calvary Cemetery both in Council Grove. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Rose Catholic Church or to the American Heart Association.
