Drummond, Laura Foxworthy Mrs. David Drummond--Native of Area Dies in Topeka.
Mrs David Drummond, 72, of Lawrence died Saturday in St. Francis Hospital, Topeka, following a brief illness. She had been a resident of Chase County the greater part of her life.
Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. Monday in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Strong City, with the Rev. Father William Cremin offering the Mass. Gilbert Haug was the organist. Casketbearers were Ronald Meyer, Earl Kleinsorge, Gilbert Haug, Gerald Horak, Robert Ramsey and Gerald Talkington. Burial was in St. Anthony's Cemetery. The Brown-Bennett Funeral Home, Cottonwood Falls, was in charge of local arrangements.
Laura Foxworthy Drummond, the daughter of Daniel and Josephine Stubenhofer Foxworthy, was born February 16, 1897, at Cottonwood Falls and died December 13, 1969. She was married to Mr. Drummond on August 16, 1919 in Strong City. They had farmed at Elmdale until 1951 when they moved to Emporia where they lived 10 years before moving to Lawrence. Mrs. Drummond was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Lawrence.
She is survived by her husband, of the home; one daughter, Mrs. H M (Leila) Sheridan, Lawrence; Three sisters, Mrs. Harry (Lila) Gamer, Newton; sister Mary Daniel, Cheyenne, Wyo., and Mrs. Fred (Marie) Hampel, Kingman. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
