Matfield Resident- Death Claims

Miss Phoebe Fagg

Miss Phoebe L. Fagg, 88, who was a longtime resident of Matfield Green, died last Thursday, April 3, in St. Mary's Hospital, Emporia, where she had been a patient since the Saturday before.

She was born August 21, 1880, in Marion County, the daughter. of Pleasant and Rebecca Stanley Fagg. She had made her home with a brother on a farm before moving into Matfield Green several years ago.

Surviving her are one brother, David L. Fagg, Matfield Green, and 11 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, John, Charles and William Fagg.

Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Saturday in the Brown- Bennett Funeral Home here conducted by the Rev. Robert B. Craig, pastor of the United Methodist Church, Cottonwood Falls. James Bell sang accompanied by Mrs. Charles L. Ireland. Pallbearers were Trenton Fagg, Max Shaw, Wilbur Talkington, Harold Talkington, Ralph Crowell and Albert Banks. Burial was in the Matfield Green Cemetery.

Attending the rites from out of the county were Mr. and Mrs. Dorphus Fagg, Emporia; Erle G. Ellis, Mr. and Mrs. George M. Fagg, and Mrs. Pearl B. Harsh, El Dorado; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Pinkston, Florence.
