Passes At Farm Home
William A. Fagg, 78. Farmer of
Matfield Green Vicinity Died
Monday. Services Are Thursday
William A. Fagg 78, a resident of
the Matfield Green vicinity his entire life, passed away Monday at his
farm home, where he lived with a
brother and a sister.
Funeral services will be held Thursday
afternoon, April 18, at two o-clock
at the Matfield Green church
under the direction of the Brown
Funeral Home. The Rev. Willard F.
Thompson of the Cottonwood Falls
Presbyterian church will be in
charge. Music will be furnished by
Robert Way as soloist and Mrs.
George Carpenter the accompanist.
The pall bearers will be Fred Swift,
Bruce Swift, Earl Underwood, Edward
Baker, Charley Swift and Max Shaw.
Interment will be in the Matfield
Green cemetery.
William A. Fagg, son of Pleasant
and Rebecca Stanley Fagg, was born
August 28, 1882 on the Fagg home
farm near Matfield Green and died
April 15, 1857. In 1866 an emigrant
train of covered wagons left Indiana
for Kansas. Among them were the
parents of William Fagg. In 1881
they bought the John Harvey farm
on South Pork which has since been
the Fagg home.
Mr. Fagg was preceded in death by
his parents and one brother, John
He is survived by one sister, Phoebe
Fagg, of the home; two brothers, Da-
vid Fagg, of the home. and Charles
Fagg, of Florence, several nieces and
nephews.
