Fankhauser, Gene Gene Fankhauser
The funeral for Gene
Fankhauser, 73, of
Madison was Wednesday,
Oct. 8, 2003, in the
Wesleyan Church at
Lamont. The Rev. Steve
McVey conducted the service. Burial was in the
Apostolic Church Cemetery
at Lamont.
The family suggests
memorial contributions be
made to the Madison
Educational Assistance
Fund and sent in care of
the Wilson Funeral Home,
P.O. Box 488, Madison, Ks
66860.
Mr. Fankhauser died
Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003, at Via
Christ-St Francis hospital
in Wichita. He was a
farmer and stockman and a
life-long resident of the
Madison and Lamont area.
Gene Fankhauser, the
son of Clarence and Lydia
Emch Fankhauser, was
born Feb. 24, 1930, in
Lamont. He grew up in
Lamont and graduated
from Lamont High School
in 1948.
He married Marjorie
McCracken on Oct. 18,
1953, in Gridley. She sur-
vives.
Mr. Fankhauser attend-
ed the Wesleyan Church in
Lamont. He served for several years on the Shell Rock
Township Board.
He is also survived by a
son, Terry Fankhauser of
Des Moines, Iowa; three
daughters, Marsha Greer
of Topeka, Diane Williams
of Olathe and Kathy Veer of
Newton; two brothers,
Verne Fankhauser of
Elmdale and Loy
Fankhauser of El Dorado;
and seven grandchildren.
