Featherkile, Ada Bell Broom
Aged Cottonwood Falls Resident Dies
Services For Mrs. W. T. Featherkile Held Sunday at Croy Funeral Home.
Mrs. W. T. Featherkile, who had been in ill health for some months, passed away at her home in Cottonwood Falls, Friday, August 11, 1950. Funeral services were conducted at the Croy Funeral Home, Sunday afternoon, August 13, at 2;30 o'clock with Rev. Clarence L. Harder, pastor of the Methodist Church, in charge. Mrs. Arrilla Merrill, Mrs. Ralph Klamm, Leslie Hager and L. E. Croy sang, accompanied at the piano by Miss Carol Ann Croy. The Pallbearers were Ernest McKenzie, Howard Parks, Henry Giese, R. D. Bennett, Irving Myers and Calvin Mendenhall. Interment was made in the Prairie Grove Cemetery.
OBITUARY
Ada Bell Broom, daughter of B. C. and Nancy Broom, was born July 15, 1888, at Effingham, Ill.
She moved to Cedar Point, Kans., in 1881.
On November 25. 1888, she was united in marriag to William Thorton Featherkile of Florence, Kans. To this union were born Pearl Barton of Marshfield. Mo.; Clarence of Emporia;Floyd of Denver, Colo.; and Blanche Bourland of Cottonwood Falls.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother, all of whom died in Nebraska.
As a young girt she became a member of the Methodist Church at Cedar Point, later transferring her membership to the Cottonwood Falls Methodist church.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, four children, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a number of other relatives and many friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Featherkile, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence George. Mr. and Mrs, Tilfred Bourland, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Albright and Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Trowbridge, all pf Emporia; Mrs. Ezel Boyce, of Stark, Miss Marjorie Bourland, of Norman,Okla.; Jerry Clark, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Bourland, of Wichita; Mrs. Jack Woodworth, of Strong City; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Warnken of Hartford; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Smith, of Wansuttea, Wyo.
