Fillmore, Edward Eugene
Gene Fillmore, 72, of El Dorado, Ark., and formerly of Cottonwood Falls, died Wednesday April 30, 2008, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado, Ark.
The son of Edward William and Zelda Grace Spain Fillmore, Edward Eugene �Gene,� was born June 7, 1935, at Cottonwood Falls.
He and Mary Carol Blocker were married 14 years.
He was a truck driver his whole life, working for Frank Thompson Trucking before retiring.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Kevin Miller, Elmdale; a step-son, Tim Green, Crossett, Ark.; three step-daughters Linda Stuart and Brenda Rodriguez, Benbrook Texas, and Tammy Foster, Romance, Ark.; two brothers, Robert Fillmore, Strong City and Bill Fillmore, Cottonwood Falls; six sisters, Peggy Kent, Smackover, Ark., Pat Donelson, Cottonwood Falls, Betty Yoakem, Kennesaw, Ga., Carole Talley, Rockport, Texas, Carla Gibb, Charlotte, N.C. and Kay Kleinsorge, Buda, Texas; l4 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Marion �Hop� Fillmore.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, May 6, in Bazaar Cemetery, rural Bazaar. Pastor David Gass of the Cedar Point Community Church in Cedar Point officiated.
