Fowler, Ted H.
Ted H. Fowler, 87, of Emporia died Friday, May 16, 2008, at Newman Regional Health.
The son of Percy and Grace Hopkins Fowler, he was born Sept. 28, 1920, at Emporia.
He married Virginia Cox on April 30, 1941, at Cottonwood Falls. She died in 2004.
He was the transportation director for the Emporia school district before he retired in 1986. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was the vice president and treasurer of the Kansas State Pupil Transportation Association and a member of American Legion Ball-McColm Post 5 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Lowry-Funston Post 1980.
He is survived by two daughters, Barbara Pringle of Emporia and Judy Trimble of Neodesha; one son, Charles Fowler of Shreveport, La.; one brother, Raymond Fowler of Emporia; three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane Neff; and one granddaughter.
Services were Wednesday, May 21, at Charter Funerals-Emporia Chapel. Burial was in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
