Foxworthy, Josephine Katherine Stubenhofer Mrs. Daniel W Foxworthy Passes Away Thursday.
Mrs D W Foxworthy died at her home in Strong City, Thursday, following a long illness. Mrs. Foxworthy had been an invalid for many years and during recent years had been confined to her bed constantly. During this time she had been tenderly cared for by her daughter, Miss Marie Foxworthy and her husband, D W Foxworthy.
Mrs. Foxworthy had lived in this county nearly all her life. She was widely known in Strong City and Falls township where the family lived before moving to Strong about fifteen or twenty years ago.
Josephine Katherine Stubenhofer was born at Erie, Pa, October 17, 1868 the daughter of Theresa and Michael Stubenhofer. She came to Kansas with her parents when seven years of age. She was married to D W Foxworthy on November 4, 1890, at Strong City, Kansas. To this union were born six children, four girls and two boys. The two boys, Dewey at 16 months, and LeRoy at sixteen years, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, D W Foxworthy, her daughters, Mrs. Harry Gamer, of Newton, Kansas; Mrs. David Drummond, of Elmdale, Kansas; Sister Mary Daniel, of Anaconda, Mont., and Miss Marie Foxworthy of the home.
She is also survived by two brothers. William Stubenhofer, of Strong City, Joe Stubenhofer, of Erie, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Weibrecht, of Strong City and her twin sister, Mrs. Sophia Rockwood, of Topeka, and three grandchildren, Emran and Alvin Gamer, of Newton and Mr. Frank Harshman, of Clements, Kansas.
Funeral Services were held at St. Anthony's church in Strong City at 10 o'clock Monday morning, January 22, Rev. Fr. Edw. J Alberts officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Carol Holmberg and Emran Gamer. The pall bearers were Frank Gamer, A W Ryan, W E Brown, Mike Nash, Frank McCabe and Marian Haefling. Interment was made in St. Anthony's cemetery at Strong City.
