Freeman, Alfred Boyd Former Emporia resident Alfred Boyd Freeman, 85, of Hookset, N.H., died Thursday, April
13, 2006.
The son of
Ralph L. and
Florence Gunkel Freeman, he was born July 30, 1920, at Emporia.
He graduated from Cedar Point High
School and Emporia State University. Along with his military career, Mr. Freeman also was a physicist, inventor and patent attorney. During World War II, he served with the Royal Air Force in England.
Mr. Freeman is survived by his wife of 40 years, Martha Freeman; two
daughters, April Freeman of New York City and Aleta Stang of Connecticut; and a sister, Rosalea Snow of Overland Park.
The inurnment service will be at 9 a.m. June 16 at
Arlington National
Cemetery.
