Galentine, Ida Mae Chandler

Ida Mae Galentine, 86, of Emporia died July 29, 2002, at Newman Regional Health Center in Emporia.

Ida Mae, the daughter of Almon Ray and Nellie Leone Fox Chandler, was born Sept 2, 1915, at Haddam. She grew up in Haddam and Ponca City Okla. She moved to Emporia in 1975. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Galentine also taught at country schools in Washington County, Kansas, for several years.

She married Howard F. Galentine, Jan. 29, 1938, in Marysville. Mrs Galentine is survived by two sons, Brian C. Galentine of Bazaar and Shane N. Galentine of emporia; one sister, Carmen L. Johnson of Longmont, Colo.; one granddaughter, Shannon R. Galentine of Park City; one step-grandson, Michael W. Mayes of Matfield Green; and two step-great grandchildren, Joshua W. Mayes and Emily B. Mayes of Matfield Green; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; adn two brothers, Melvin Jerome Chandler and Lawrence Leroy Chandler.
