Garr, Edward
Edward W. Garr, 57,
retired Master Sgt.
U.S.A.F., died Friday, Dec.
26, 2003, at Wesley Medical
Center, Wichita.
Edward William Garr,
the son of William Thomas
and Charlene Storm Garr,
was born Aug. 21, 1946, at
the family home near
White City.
He was married to Linda
Johnson and they later
divorced. He then married
Dian Berdish Jacobs on
Aug. 15, 2003 in
Cottonwood Falls.

He was a Master
Sergeant of the United
States Air Force. He served
from Oct. 4, 1965 and
retired Nov. 1, 1987.
He is survived by his
wife of the home; three
sons, Christopher Garr and
Lester Garr of Strong City
and Brian Garr of
Cottonwood Falls; step-
sons, Kenneth Tanner and
Charles Tanner and a step-
daughter, Michelle Fowler,
all of Emporia; a brother
Dallas Lee Garr of
Emporia; three sisters,
Carol Jean Fillmore of
Strong City, and Betsy Ann
Heathman and Patsy Sue
Potter of Gardner; 13
grandchildren; and three
step-grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by a
brother, Lloyd Richard
Garr and his father.
The funeral will be
Wednesday, Dec. 31 2 p.m.
at the Brown-Bennett-
Alexander Funeral Home,
Cottonwood Falls. Pastor
Charles "Bob" Strom and
Pastor Rick Smith will officiate.
Memorials are established to an educational
fund for his grandchildren
and may be sent in care of
the funeral home, 201
