Graham, Lee Kyle Retired Mail Carrier Dies
Lee K. Graham, 81, of Clements, who had been a rural mail carrier out of
Clements many year before his retirement in 1968, died Monday, Aug. 6th, in
Bethel Deaconess Hospital, Newton, following an illiness of about six
weeks, being hospitalized the last three.
Lee Kyle Graham was born March 21, 1898, at Columbus, the son of John T.
and Mamie Graham. He was married to Blanche R. Whitcraft on May 20, 1923,
in Wamego, and they had made their home in Clements the last 56 years. Mr.
Graham was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 114, the Christian Church and the
American Legon Post, all at Florence. He had been a member of the Chase
County Rural Letter Carriers Association.
Surviving him are his wife, of the Autumn Manor Nursing Home, Florence; one
son, Jack L. Graham, Wichita; one grandson, Gil. B. Graham, Boston, Mass;
two brothers, Charles Graham, Florence; and Neil Graham, Cottonwood Falls;
four sisters, Virgie Baker, Holyrood; Allene Brown, Council Grove; Dorothy
Hatcher, Florence and Gladys Danby, Wichita.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Christian Church at
Florence with the Rev. Lester Owens, the church pastor, in charge. Burial
will be in the Clements cemetery. The Croy Funeral Home, Cottonwood Falls,
was in charge of arrangements.
A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.
