She taught the fifth and sixth grades at Skyline School in Shawnee Mission School District in suburban Kansas City until she retired in 1974.

She moved to Pennsylvania in 1990 to live with her daughter when her blindness made it impossible for her to continue living on her own. She was a member of P.E.O. International and a Charter Member of Chapter F.N. of P.E.O. International.

Mrs. Harris is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Kay Harris of Elkins Park, Pa.; a son Gary Kim Harris of Henderson, Nev.; two grandchildren; and a sister, Laree Watson, of Augusta.
