Heskett, William Wesley William Heskett died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Grace E. Swift in Hutchinson, last Saturday, March 3, 1928, following a long illness. Mr. Heskett had gone to Hutchinson several weeks ago and had been receiving treatment at a Hutchinson Hospital but his condition had been so weakened by months of illness that little benefit could be given him.
The funeral services were held in Hutchinson and interment made in the Memorial cemetery of that city. Mrs. Heskett was called to Hutchinson, Saturday following his death and with other relatives attended the funeral.
William Wesley Heskett was born at Hymer, this county. Aug. 22, 1862. He was the son of Mr and Mrs Thomas Wesley Heskett, early settlers of this county. It was on the homestead his father took at Hymer that William was born.
In 1884, Mr. Heskett was married to Miss Mary Maybell whose death occurred six years later in 1890. To this union one daughter was born who is Mrs. Grace E Swift of Hutchinson. In 1913 Mr. Heskett was married to Mrs. Osa Morton of this city. Two children were born to them; Anna Marie Heskett, who is dead, and Lela Maxine Heskett who lives here with her mother. Besides his widow and Lola Maxine, the deceased is survived by two step-daughters and one step-son; his daughter, Mrs. Grace Swift, of Hutchinson; and three grandchildren. He also leaves a brother, Frank Heskett, and three half-brothers, Lem, Lue, and Lawrence Heskett; and two sister, Mrs. John Sherffius, of Courtland, Kansas and Mrs. Stella Kinison of Reading, Kansas.
