Hughes, Woodrow Wilson Woodrow Wilson Hughes, 89, of Halstead died April 13, 2002, at his residence.
Woodrow Wilson Hughes the son of Elmer M and Bernice M. (Moots) Hughes, was born Oct 12, 1912, at Halstead. He married Madge Lillian Hartzell, Oct 14, 1939 at Hutchinson. She died Dec 13, 1986. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Halstead.
Survivors include one son, Richard Hughes, Burrton; one daughter, Barbara Stout, Halstead; and one sister Evelyn Miller, Hutchinson; 18 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded by a son, Gerald Hughes; a daughter, Beverly Krueger, and brothers, Herman and Melvin Hughes; sisters Edna Fleetwood, Loreva Berger, Eileen Zimmerman, Ruth Jamieson, Dorothy Van Tuyl and Faye Adolph.
Services were held April 16, 2002, at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead. The Rev. Lester Bauman officiated. Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery. Memorials can be sent to Central Homecare and Hospice in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
