Ice, A R ANOTHER OLD SETTLER GONE.
A. R. Ice died at Chanute at 5 o'clock yesterday morning in the 67th year of his age.
He had been suffering over a year with fistula and though he sought the best medical and surgical advice in the country, he was given no hope of a permanent cure. Eminent surgeons in Kansas City began a series of operations which gave him much relief. After the last operation he felt strong enough to visit friends in Chanute. While there he was taken dangerously ill and his wife sent for. She went to him at once.
The body will reach his late home near Clements at 2 p.m. today, and the funeral will take place at the residence at 3 p.m. Saturday.
